Bedfordshire CCG, along with Central Bedfordshire and Bedford Borough councils, funds Carers in Bedfordshire to deliver carer services. One of the services available is Carers Cafes, of which there are five across the county. The cafes offer a relaxed environment with easy access, and an opportunity to make friends and talk to others in a similar position. Click here to find out more about the Carers Cafes on the Carers in Bedfordshire website.

Carers in Bedfordshire administer Adult & Young Carers Grants Carers Grants on behalf of NHS Bedfordshire Clinical Commissioning Group to enable unpaid carers, who provide substantial care, to access a break, activity, service or training that will improve their health or wellbeing. For more information follow this link to their website.

Carers in Bedfordshire also provide services to help Young Carers, including meeting with other young carers to share their experiences and gain peer support. More information on the Young Carer services can be found here.

Hospital Carers Lounge - These lounges which are located inside both Bedford Hospital and Luton & Dunstable Hospital are there to allow carers a safe space within a busy environment to get advice and emotional support. More information including the location and opening times of these lounges can be found here.

A new Bedfordshire guide for carers has been created by Carers in Bedfordshire. "Caring for Family & Friends" is packed with details of local organisations and services that can help those who care for someone who can’t manage without them because of a disability, condition or long-term illness.
